Where did the name Bollywood come from?

Purely etymologically, Bollywood is a portmanteau of "Bombay" and "Hollywood." [1]Bombay (or Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, as it is known now) is the city where the Hindi film industry is located. The term "Bollywood" has origins in the 1970s.
