Where did the name Bollywood come from?
Purely etymologically, Bollywood is a portmanteau of " Bombay " and " Hollywood ." [1] Bombay (or Mumbai , Maharashtra, India, as it is known now) is the city where the Hindi film industry is located. The term "Bollywood" has origins in the 1970s.
